POWER! Really excellent power (+/-485 FPS). Despite the fact that this gun is pretty much plastic, it doesn't feel like it. Great weight distribution; not top heavy. I've got a Powerline Model 693, and that gun is incredibly top heavy and my wrists tend to get tired after a while. This one on the other hand is just so comfortable. It's relatively accurate for such a small weapon, one just has to learn how to aim the gun properly to get the best accuracy results (we all have our ways of doing it). And excellent build quality, there's no rattling parts that I've noticed. The trigger is quite smooth and lite. Loading either the ammo or the powerlet is a snap, simple and efficient. Great gun for the money.
I have found one bad thing this gun though. It doesn't really bother me, but it may become irritating after a while. At high rates of fire, not all the BBs are fired. The firing mechanism that turns the rotary clip skips, resulting in blank shots once in a while and leaving a BB stuck in the clip. But this really isn't that bad. Just fire at a moderate and consistent speeds and there shouldn't be a problem.
The first time held the gun I thought it was all metal. But shortly after I realized that it was plastic. But that's not really a bad thing I guess. Even though it's made of plastic, it doesn't seem like low quality plastic, it's got a real metal feel to it. The fps is not bad. As previously stated, I also have a Powerline 693. I've immediately compared the two as soon as possible. When it came to accuracy, the 93 was slightly better at farther distances, but at close ranges, the two are virtually equal. Gas consumption, the 008 is quite a gas guzzler. But that's an acceptable trade-off to the power this gun delivers. When it comes to penetrating power, the 008 far exceeds the 93. That extra 80+ fps does come in handy. Looks wise, the 008 looks more real than the 93. It just has that appearance and tactile feel of a real firearm. Plus there isn't noticeable screw at the bottom as compared to the 93, so that's a plus. The build quality also far surpasses the 93. Though both are built in Japan, the 93 barely comes close to the 008. The 008 is more compact and more integrated i.e. very sleek looking. Shooting comfort is excellent. An incredibly comfortable and stable gun.
Overall, this gun is a great value for the money. If you want an overpriced, underpowered, overrated gun, get a Walther or one of those over modified Crosmans with bells and whistles up the wazoo. But if you want a pistol with excellent build quality, reliability, and simplicity without compromising style, then go with the 008. You won't regret it.
