Umm..struggling here. I guess their annoying card reader which is incredibly bulky if you want to use internet banking anywhere but home is a nod towards security.
Too many to list.
Have a joint account? They'll still only send you one (annoyingly bulky) card reader.
Sometimes despite entering the number from the card reader correctly, it still claims you didn't. Took me about 15 minutes to get it to accept the number one time before I could make a payment.
My main gripe is the storing of transactions. Apparently because of "data archiving rules" they can't keep records for 2 months? What? Surely it's a legal requirement to keep them for longer than this. Why don't these rules apply to anyone else? My grandpa was able to look back 2 year in his records to find when I transferred some money on his Lloyds TSB account. They apparently aren't bound by these "rules".
I'm getting married soon, and when it comes to opening a joint account, Barclays will be well down the list.
