General Comments

This Epson C62 is the third Epson printer I've bought and I finally think I've learned my lesson. I won't buy another.

Very easy to set up out of the box. Worked fine initially with good colour rendition and producing high quality photo type prints. After a few months I noticed that the printed text (particularly in black) was smudging. Note that you can't remove the ink container to clean the nozzles because the Epson software which controls the monitoring of ink levels etc. thinks you have just installed a new cartridge when you re-insert the part full one you have cleaned. This seems to upset the software and you will end up with problems later. The ink cartridges are "chipped" by Epson and makes them expensive to replace. Third party manufactured ink cartridges never seem to work quite as well as the Epson originals but are significantly cheaper to purchase.

The smudging problem seems to get worse with time and reflects the same sort of problems I've had with other Epson printers in the past (particularly Epson Photo 750).

Also the printer is very noisy, but to it's credit it seems to handle the transportation of paper very reliably and I've has no misfeeds to date.

Overall I think I've had enough of Epson for the moment and I'll try an HP or Canon next.
