Young staff, Upper Class service
Economy, entertainment system, slow rollout of cabin refit. Las Vegas plane is from the stone age
I fly Virgin regularly, in all classes on several routes. Upper Class is great, good food, decent lounge, attentive staff and the bar/massage makes it stand out from other business class cabins.
But, when I have to pay my own money and travel in economy, I am always massively disappointed. Rude, unhelpful ground staff, frequently delayed flights and worst, in my experience the in flight entertainment is faulty at least one flight in 3. The cabin crew slow often taking an hour to clear the trays etc. I often end up taking my own tray to the galley. Plus, given that I am a Gold Card frequent flyer, it seems incredibly cheap to charge £75 for the pleasure of an exit row seat (cheap regardless, cheaper still if you fly regularly). To be honest, if I was not part of their airmile program, I would fly with BA every time. Far more consistent service, if a bit boring by comparison. But, the 'cheeky', quirky Virgin ethos is getting a bit old in my opinion.
