Bad Points
Cursed by the Sandals Ultra All Inclusive reputation of other Caribbean Islands without a trade embargo.

General Comments
If you are going to Cuba you will benefit from accepting that you are in a Country that is restricted by its limitations of not enjoying a free trade economy. It is also has a tropical climate and so service is generally slower than in colder climates. However, the people are genuinely friendly and happy to make your visit a memorable one and the emphasis is on relaxation. Slow down and you will enjoy it much more. Try and see more than the resort areas to appreciate the contrast in lifestyles that we enjoy at home. An effort to understand the culture of Cuba reveals how unique an Island this place is. Sandals Royal Hicacos has a significant returning guests clientelle. We believe this indicates that they get it right more times than getting it wrong. We have found that if you are relaxed, reasonable and factual about any concerns that you may have they are resolved to your satisfaction. Be realistic with your expectations of what you want on this type of holiday with the caveat of being sold Sandals on the cheap (by comparison to some of there other resorts) as being just as good. You may well find your experience of this holiday well worth it. My wife and I have been lucky to have been to this resort on a number of occasions and have found that arriving in the right frame of mind has paid dividends.
