Really nice feel for a entry level DSLR. Good quality photos. Lots of features. 18mm to 70mm bundled lens is a joy to use. Feels like twice the camera that it cost.
Bad Points
Photos can get quite noisy over ISO 400, you'll need Noise Ninja or similar to clean them up. Rubber viewfinder surround is easy to pop off and loose. So is the plastic LCD screen cover. LCD screen is a bit too small.
General Comments
The Nikon D70 makes a fantastic first DSLR. If you are wanting to take the plunge and move from a 'prosumer' camera this (or it's replacement the D80) would be a good choice. Brought out as direct competition to the Canon Rebel 350. IMHO it beat the Canon in everything.
