Clean. Lots of activities. Nicely set out. Friendly staff. Very large site.
Most caravans appear "clinical" and "cold" inside.
Restaurant expensive considering the "quality" of the food.
The La Croix du Vieux Pont is a very large campsite/holiday park situated a driving distance from Paris, including Disneyland paris. The park itself arranges day trips via coach to both.
There is plenty to do here, there are three pools, an indoor, an outdoor and a shallow childrens pool. I have been to this park on three occasions, twice in the middle of summer and all three times the outdoor pool has been shut. There are also several waterslides. However, be careful as leading up to the pools you must walk up stairs without railings, they tend to get very slippery and dangerous.
On this park you will find several childrens play areas. Nearby there are also trampolines, table tennis, a bouncy castle and kiddy cars on a track. However you must pay for these, they are reasonably cheap but it all adds up, it is worth buying a "pre-pay" ticket from the kiosk next to these which also supply soft drinks and ice creams. This kiosk also hires out fishing gear, canoes and pedalos to use on the lake, a pedalo costs anything from 5 Euros to 8 Euros, depending on which size you wish to take out. There are two lakes and you can fish on both. Take note parents: The lake is easily accessed so watch your young children.
On the site you will also find a beauty salon and spa, some treatments are priced quite reasonably whilst others are quite expensive. The restaurant leaves a lot to be desired however, the food arrived cold and of poor quality, the staff were friendly but I would have rather bought something from the fast food takeaway next door which sold burgers, etc at very reasonable prices. The bar is great, here you can order drinks and use internet connection and outdoor area, upstairs to the bar there is an arcade with low win fruit machines, air hockey, etc. Downstairs there is a disco with karoke.
On this site you can hire out bicycles too and will find this near the shops, there are two located on the site, a well stocked grocery store which bakes and sells its own bread and cakes on site and a souvenir shop.
Just outside the campsite you will also find a horseriding club with excellent prices! You can either ride a horse or pony in the enclosure or take one out into the forest.
The caravans here however, I found were quite cold, unhomely and clinical. They were however clean. The reps here are very friendly too!
