Hotel Rep very friendly and helpfull
Flight, hotel
My husband I flew to Cuba and stayed at the Playa Pesquero in November 2007 and we were not impressed.
We upgraded our flight to premium this was a joke! Aircraft was dirty, cabin crew announcements unprofessional, we had to beg for drinks (these were included in our very expensive upgrade), food very poor, head phones did not work, toilets dirty with an unpleasant smell and there were no complimentary newspapers as advertised in their brochure.
The hotel was definitely not a 4star plus as advertised in the brochure. The rooms although spacious were very tired. Curtains were hanging off the rails, the bath mat was mouldy, the toilet seat was loose, the hairdryer had been ripped of the wall, shower curtain not hooked on properly and scum around the basin's plug whole to mention but a few things. The hotel grounds itself were good, however the furniture in the lobby area was very tatty and the public toilets dirty and smelly.
There was plenty of choice food wise however it was very bland. The themed restaurants were ok but not very authentic and many guests were not challenged with regard to the dress code. The Romantica restaurant's air conditioning was set far to cold, we sat shivering throughout the meal. One night in the buffet restaurant there was nowhere for us to sit and it took nearly twenty minutes to be seated by a waiter in a closed part of the restaurant. By this time our food had gone cold!!!
The entertainment was appalling. Getting adults onto the stage and playing silly games and badly run fashion shows are not forms of entertainment in our eyes. The one saving grace was the synchronised swimming one evening. We had problems with our key card two days on the run. Staff stated to us and told us that the key cards can only be programmed for one week at a time. However after speaking to other guests we found out this was not the case. Very often it took far to long to get served at the lobby bar. There are many other points that we feel did not live up to our expectations however we feel we have said enough!!!!!!
