The price and ease of set up
Phone charges for technical help for me are too pricey.
Having had dial up I decided to opt out of my BT account and choose sky mid range package, since I already had sky Tv I was offered it for a very reasonable five pounds per month. I received notification of my connection from sky indicating my connection date. It was not quite as quick as they had stated but in real terms this was only a few days out and I put it down to increased applications. The initial set up should have been very easy however I had overlooked the connection at the rear of my computer and this caused a couple of teething problems which in fairness were not the fault of Sky. Once I had installed the correct Ethernet port I was up and running and to date have not experienced any problems. The reason I did not want to change provider in the first instance was down to the hassle I knew i would incur however I now wish I had done it earlier. I would say that for my usage the package is excellent value for money and have recommended this to friends and neighbors. I would suggest that unlike me you do not take for granted that your pc meets all the requirements and that you take the time to check before ordering. I also decided to let sky provide the line rental which would avoid bt or sky blaming each other should a problem arise. Sky Broadband charge the same line rental as BT.
