General Comments

Joined as a student when they offered a better deal than other banks both in rates, overdrafts and joining bonus'.

In the 10 years since then I've had no real issues or complaints and in general had a very good service though the charges for going overdrawn are very steep.

Online banking is very good (seperate review) and, the few times I've had to contact via phone or branch, I've been dealt with quickly and efficiently.

One big complaint (and the reason I'm currently looking to move accounts) is that they are far from the most competitive. A quick search on-line shows just about every other institute pays better rates (even excluding bonus rates) and this can lead to huge differences in money over the years. RBS can't offer a decent current account, mortgage, ISA or savings account) for me. Maybe I'll discover the good service was worth paying for but for the extra money I'm losing daily I think I'll at least try another bank.
