Good Points

Could escape this hotel and walk to local sandy beach at Sa Coma. Hotel close to shops and restaurants. Complaints at hotel were generally dealt with fairly quickly.
Pool clean. Plenty of sunbeds.(particularly in winter!)


Bad Points

Promoted by tour operators as 3-4 star. Clearly no tour operator has stayed here!! More like 2 star. Food of poor standard, often cold, and presentation lacks imagination and reminiscent of a 1950's school canteen. No heating in rooms despite time of year and the presence of young children. You could however hire a noisy fan at 3.0 per day. Rooms badly need revamping. No T.V in rooms (although advertised.)
Entertainment for families seriously lacks imagination. Little for children to do. General attitude of staff reflected the ambiance of the hotel. Outlook from hotel grim.


General Comments

With the right attitude and some considerable investment the Gran Playa Apartamentos hotel could turn itself round and reach the standard of a 3 star hotel but until then it should close during the winter/spring months. This hotel was clearly misrepresented by tour operators and was not suitable for a family holiday. However if you want a cheap break and don't expect much it maybe it is for you!
