Old AOL was reliable, pioneering, and fun, promised speeds up to about a month ago and delivered. I used AOL internet for general use.. nothing heavy or demanding.
Since a month ago New AOL (influence of CPW possibly) does not feel like AOL. Poor connectivity, slow speed.. lower speed than I had... gone down from 6mbps to 2mbps and now less than 1mbps. Unhelpful customer services in my case, same as technical support, abroad as far as I am concerned.
I was offered an 18month contract (and sadly I accepted) with AOL to speed up my broadband. I was with AOL since my days in States in 90s and it was reliable and fun. I subscribe to AOL in UK about 1.3 years ago. It was OK but As soon as CPW came into picture about a month ago, all the problems started without any prior warning.
I do not recommend AOL Broadband.
