When it works its just about ok in my experience.
When it works its just about ok -
Down/Upload speeds are terrible in my opinion and experience
Customer Services have been unhelpful
We were with Orange for our Broadband, £19.99 a month for up to 8MB Broadband with free wireless router.
Although we should have really noticed we've hardly heard anything from Orange for the past 3 months.
In February my fiance phoned them to make a manual payment (it was a DD but his card details had changed recently) and the Orange Rep told him that they couldnt take a payment as his account was up to date and clear, which was strange as we havent payed them since December (I think) yet they still insisted that his account was clear so couldnt take a payment.
2 Days later he checked his online Banking to find that Orange had attempted to take a payment form his account taking him overdrawn (resulting in additional charges from the bank)?
He rang them again to ask whats going on to be told that a payment was required and that when he rang a few days earlier their systems told them that the rep told him that they needed a payment...thats why he rang in the first place but they wouldnt accept a payment!
Since then they cancelled our contract without even telling us.
I rang verious people for advice because as far as I am aware they had cut us off from the internet and cancelled our contract because of a failed payment. Because we were still within their 18 months contract they expect us to pay them a contract buy out fee of £265ish! We still havent received a letter telling us that they cancelled our contract as far as I am aware, we only found out because my fiance rang them to ask why we had been cut off. We've since asked them why hadnt they told us about the cancellation and they said that it isnt their policy to send letters out telling their customers that their contract has been cancelled! If we didnt have a phone then we would be non the wiser about any of this.
We also have requested an information pack from a company called CISAS who are Oranges Omnibudsman and if Orange fail to respond to our letters we've send to them in 14 days then we should be able to complain to CISAS instead.
Also I should mention that the day after losing our internet we got a packet in the post from Orange with a postage bag and a letter telling us that it appears we are not using their internet so can we post back our router livebox back to them otherwise there will be a charge of £100, theres no way that thing is worth £100 in my opinion.
