General Comments

The Tiffa Papua, the original legendary drum of Papua Island Indonesia, is used by a community of Papua to accompany song of the a ceremonial and dance. It may be made from finest hardwood timber such as mahogany and teak woods. Hand-carved and hand-painted with featured designs by experienced craftmen.

PREPARATION OF THE TIFFA PAPUA STEMS
The sound of each Tiffa Papua is enhanced with specific techniques to guarantee the best sound of the Irian Jaya. The Basic Preparation on all Tiffa Papuas before art work consists of :
- Skinning / stripping the bark
- Cleaning centers of all waste material, termites etc.
- Cutting to length, preparing the ends and sealing to avoid splitting.
- Storing for a minimum of 6 months.

Note: that all our Tiffa Papuas are cured six month and sealed to avoid splitting.

SOUND EVALUATION
Our priority is the sound quality of all our Tiffa Papuas. All instruments selected are guaranteed export quality from concert class Tiffa Papuas to beginners. All our Tiffa Papuas are naturally hollowed by termites. No drilling of the bore ever! The sound of each Tiffa Papua has been tested many time during the curing period (6 months) and also after specific methods of sound enhancement have been done. (These techniques came with experience and old recipes that will not be divulged.)
