Freeware version Online Armor 2.1.0.95 has the best firewall I've used. It has a learn mode that actually remembers your preference so you're not being asked each time whether an activity is safe or not. It is not intrusive
Online Armor has been the best firewall I've used, I'm running Windows XP Pro with SP3
the firewall I used before was Comodo and the default Windows product
