Sub £200 budget.
Synthetic stock tastefully done at this price.
Construction feels sound, nice additions such as Tru-Glo fibre optic sights.
Shoots exactly where you point it.
As its a long rifle with weight favoured to the front
muzzle tends to float about when trying to steady aim unsupported.
I've had my CFX for 2mths now and I have to be honest, I took it back after the first 100 pellets as it didn't feel to be punching at its alleged weight (apparently around 11.3ft/lb). Gunsmith told me to run the rest of my 500 tin through it and if the 10.3ft/lb didn't bump up they'd respring it. On return visit it had dropped to 9.4ft/lb so respring was done. It came back a different rifle (although not without teething problems). The main thing is finding the ideally matched pellet for this rifle. Ive now settled on RWS Superpoint Extra (14.5 gr) which tested at 11.6ft/lb. Down the length of my 75ft (25yrd) range they can penetrate a number materials. 7mm thick wood fencing panels, synthetic petrolium barrel (through both sides of 2x2mm rubberised plastic) and tin cans of all shapes and sizes get punched clean through. I set up a Walther 4x32 scope on mine and a 50p piece is fair game at 25yds. Thats the real clincher with this rifle, crank a scope on it and you can genuinely feel like a back yard sniper. Good luck and happy shooting if you decide to buy.
