We normally fly schedule to Goa, but after the delay in Bombay last year, we decided to fly charter as they go direct to Goa. Quite possibly the worst mistake of my life.
I had heard how bad monarch were, but surely things couldn`t have been as bad as people had told me?? Oh yes they were!! Flying 8th March from Gatwick to Goa, first of all a 5 hour delay, ok this can happen to any airline, so I`ll forgive them on that one.
When on board, I really thought that the average height of British people must be 3 foot, as the seats couldn`t accommodate anyone over that height. After wedging ourselves into the space available, I really prayed that I wouldn`t need the toilet, as someone would have to crowbar myself out to go. The inflight entertainment was laughable, you needed a powerful telescope to even find the alleged tv sets, which incidentally Monarch decided what you watch. And as two films of the allotted three didn`t work, so we had an array of BBC comedies from the 80`s. It`s just a shame that I have the complete Black adder & Fools and Horses dvd sets at home. We are talking an eleven flight here, not a quick hop to Spain. What Monarch should have done, was to hand out powerful sleeping tablets as you boarded. Whats even more embarrassing for myself, is that I had a choice, these poor people who have a package holiday don`t. The flight attendants looked like something out of the 70`s. They also insist on charging for everything, even water. And you are not allowed to drink your own alcohol. And thanks to the new security measures, fluids aren`t allowed in hand luggage, Monarch make a killing on the water.

First and 100% the last time I`ll ever fly this airline. Back to schedule flights next time, and forever more.
