General Comments

The Beeman Quick Cleaning Pellets are soft fabric cylendar pellets used to clean the inside of your pellet gun. You only need them about every 500 rounds or so, and they are very easy to use. All you do is soak a pellet in any type of pellet gun cleaning oil, and fire it through the gun like a normal pellet. You then follow it with a dry cleaning pellet to swab out the inside. Its as easy as that, and leaves your gun with a clean lubricated barrel.

I was reading in Tom Gayords book on the net (a noted expert in the field for years) under air gun power plants part II spring guns P-29. He says that although this would seem effective at the time you can very easily damage the mechanical workings of your gun by cleaning it in this manner? I'm not an expert by any means but you may want to track this article down and check it out?

He as several others "experts" I've found do not even recommend cleaning these barrels in any manner. Gayord claims to have shot tens of thousand of rounds thru his guns and never cleaned any of them. It would seem reasonable to me to clean air gun barrels but because of there soft barrel rifleling and no powdered projectiles it is not recommended.

They claim the pellets will wash out any static dirt debris etc, and all we can do by cleaning is to create minute scratchs. So the more you clean the more you have to keep cleaning as lead will then deposit in those scratches and so on and so forth.

The wads unless you pack many in there will not give you the resistance needed for your spring (if you have a spring gun) and thus will eventially damage the mechanical spring workings. Plus if a wad should lodge in the barrel (even in a non spring gun) you then have to rod it out then its back to potenial barrel damage? anyway just some thoughts.

I have a Weihrauch HW 97K .177 and a Beeman R-7 .177 and have shot several thousand rounds thru them each will no loss on POA and never cleaned them. The only thing that effects my POA is cheap or poor quailty pellets. Have Fun and shoot safe!

I have used these cleaning pellet's and the RWS one's as well and found that they will take some of the excess lead "crud" from the barrel. I have NEVER fired them alone, but have always used a "pointed" pellet in behind it to:
    1.control the piston action
2.wedge the rear of the felt tighter into the barrel.

My primary cleaning is with a 1/16" nylon pull-thru with a 1"X 1.5" cotton gun swab.
All guns are given a once thru monthly with a good cleaning at the end of the day for those that have been used. (old ARMY habit that I do not wish to drop.)
Do you mean P.O.I not P.O.A.?
    Point of Impact.
