Reliable product, good after sales service.
They will insist on fitting a nasty cheap plastic chrome effect blanking plug which invariably comes out and requires replacing. They always send a replacement (usually free of charge) but it comes with a whole box of lovely brass connectors etc that just don't get used! So pointless when all we ever need is a 10p plastic part.
Recently got this Mira Excel EV Thermostatic shower. We have a history with Mira. We bought our first Mira Excel shower over 12 years ago when we had new central heating and a combi boiler fitted. It never let us down (until last week) and apart from having to replace the aforementioned plastic blanking plug a few times, it has given faultless service.
However last week, we called the Mira engineer in to 'service' it and see why we were getting lukewarm showers. He diagnosed it needed a new cartridge but at a cost of over £200 fitted, said we may like to consider replacing it with a new one which carries a 5 year gurantee. He charged us less than £20 for the call out and he even removed the old unit to leave us ready for fitting the replacement. (You can read my review about Plumbworld eleswhere on this site.) The new shower is now fully installed and working beautifully. Mira showers are a cut above most other brands when it comes to design and operation and are well worth the premium price. Mind you, bought at discount online, this is actually a very reasonably priced product.
