PoloPete's review of Haughton Green Peak Walk River

“Surprisingly a great place to fish, shaded area to sit...”

Good Points
Nice shaded area.
Not spoilt.
Lots of large fish that are fun to catch due to the fast flowing river.
Well recommended.

Bad Points
The river has quite a quick flow to it so you need to be careful when picking your fishing spot.
The dog walking path is not to far away from the fishing spot, so you may get the odd dog walking going a little out of his way to look at the lake but I found no bother by this as it much quieter than many over fishing spots!

General Comments
Surprisingly a great place to fish, shaded area to sit in, nice open ground to set up. Lovely surroundings that has not been spoilt by chav's like most of Haughton Green. I found it hard to describe where this place is as it down a lot of back lanes then just of peak walk near the bottom of Haughton Green valley. However, once you find the fishing spot it is well worth fishing there for quite a while, as far as I am aware there is not to many people that know about it therefore there is still quite a lot of fish in the river. It only took us about an hour to catch quite a large trout.

Well recommended fishing spot.
