Excellent use of platform graphics capabilities, unique approach to racing games.
Limited multiplayer ability, game formats
The latest installment of the Need for Speed line is an exciting venture into unchartered territory by the EA developers. Gone from NFS Underground are the overgrown overpowered, overpriced european exotic cars, and in are the souped up econo-boxes, the garden variety racers one can see in real life. In Underground mode, you unlock different upgrades and modifications to enhance performance and performance of your vehicle, instead of unlocking a whole new vehicle, with only one set appereance.
The almost flawless graphics seamlessly provide the feeling of speed throughout the gameplay, and satisfyingly provide a view or your hopped-up ride as you weave between traffic and execute stunning powerslides on city streets. The graphics are very inclusive of goodies such as tiki lights, and puddle reflections of the skyline, just to show off the awesome capabilities of the graphics engine and the console platform.
