General Comments

The Sony DVP S560D was great till it started acting up after about 2 years of use. DVD's would freeze, skip, restart, etc, came online to find some answers. After reading a review that turning the display (dimmer) off helped, I decided to check it out. Turning off the display (dimmer) did nothing. However I messed with the setup and have found that the problem goes away with the right settings. With NO DVD in press the Display button: (you can do this from the remote or at the unit, but can not have a DVD in the tray)

Set the Video EQ to Standard
Digital Video Enhancer = Off
Advance = Off
Next option is the Setup:
Auto Play = Off
Dimmer = Bright
Pause = Auto
Playback Memory = Off
Track Selector = Auto

I think the main problem is the Video EQ and the Digital Video Enhancer, however I gave the rest of my settings to show how I have mine setup and working without problems.
