Prompt reply to my application
When I phoned AA to request advice after my car was hit and damaged by a neighbour`s unsecured recycling bin, I was passed on to representative of SAGA insurance. All my AA insurance documents state that I am insured with the AA. When I phoned the AA today to query this, I was told that I am insured with SAGA. Had I been told this when I initially applied for my insurance, I would have insured my car with another company. I think the AA has insured me via SAGA maybe because I am over 50 but did this without informing me or by including this on my printed insurance documents. If this isn`t bad enough, when I spoke to the SAGA representative yesterday, she was rude and extremely unhelpful. She told me that `people who go out to work cannot be held responsible for damage`. She then told me that if I claimed I would lose my protected no-claims discount. When I queried this with the AA today, I was told that I could make a claim for damage and that it would not affect my protected no-claims discount because this was covered by my insurance policy. I complained about the SAGA representative. Her behaviour can only lead one to think that she has been trained to intimidate SAGA customers into not making a claim. She obviously thought it was OK to be rude and to lie about my policy because, after all, I am over 50 !!!
Be warned, if you are over 50, the AA might insure you via SAGA and their representatives seem to have been trained to be aggressive and to cover the details of their policies. I will be posting this complaint on every website that has anything to do with car insurance - including the SAGA website. I will NOT be insuring with the AA when my policy expires and will NOT recommend the AA or SAGA to anyone!!
