General Comments
I just got back today from a completely disasterous break at Whinfell. our first two visits there I couldn't have faulted, but this time they put is bang in the middle of a building site (they are re-furbing some of the lodges, cement mixers, lorrys, vans, dumper trucks etc all hurtling past the front door, mud everywhere, hammering, knocking, drilling (you get the idea!). Not a bit like the advert for peace and quiet. They also closed the road meaning about another mile on our walk to get to anywhere on the park. They had the cheek to charge us a £25 fee for selecting one of these lodges! They didn't mention any building works on the phone or the website. I absolutely furious and won't be going back.

Just got back ourselves today(28th March)and agree about the mess. It was our first time at Centre Parcs and probably our last. We stayed in a New Woodland Lodge and it was nicely decorated but let down by being dirty. The bathrooms still had the pencil markings on the tiles and the underfloor heating wasn't working. And how are you meant to burn the logs they ask you to use without a grate to put them on as advised on the packaging? We also had to clear away all the broken branches and logs from the patio. And did anyone else find the pool cold? For the money we paid I had expected a little bit more than a cabin that smelt of dirty mops and numerous items missing or not working. Yes we did mention this to the staff, but as nice as they were nothing was ever really resolved. Oh my list is endless so I better write them a letter of complaint !
P.S. The wave machine in the pool was fantastic though....
