General Comments

We booked go karting and paintballing through Eclipse, thinking it would be worth paying a bit extra for peace of mind, knowing we'd be picked up in the morning, taken to the first activity, picked up, dropped at the paintballing and then collected and dropped back at our hotel. However, the morning came, no-one came to pick us up at 9.30 as arranged, Eclipse's office was closed and the emergency contact number we were given was switched off. After waiting an hour, we found a couple of taxi's to take us (which we had to pay for despite having already shelled out for travel) arriving late as the public transport was on strike and there was a shortage of cabs as a result. After our shortened karting session, we then had to find more cabs to take us to the other side of the city for paintballing, yet the address we'd been given was just a derelict shop in a residential district. After waiting for an hour (the emergency number still going straight to voicemail) we gave up and had to pay for more cabs back to the hotel, out of pocket for 2 taxis on each of 3 long cab rides and having wasted half the day. Eventually late afternoon we got through to Eclipse who said they'd call back. They didn't. Upon our return home we registered our displeasure - and they've promised to "have a look into it and get back to us within 30 days". Great customer service that!

    The comments posted are an inaccurate reflection of what actually took place. The customer did however correctly state that public transport in the area was on strike on the day of the event. This unfortunately included the firm that we had booked for transporting the group between venues. We had no forewarning of this. Eclipse did respond to this matter quickly and the group received a prompt refund for the activities missed, along with transportation costs incurred as a result of the strike. Eclipse Leisure have been organising Stag and Hen events for over seven years and this is not a true reflection of the high standard of service we are proud of. We sincerely hope that our client enjoyed the rest of his stag do.

    I agree that the matter was eventually sorted satisfactorily, however, for Eclipse to claim that my outline of events above is untrue is, unfortunately, simply not the case. That is exactly how things happened - and I don't see how the buses and tubes being on strike is at all relevant. We understood that we had booked a private hire transfer - a taxi or minibus firm would not have been affected by the strike and as such the excuses made are invalid. As above, I'd like to reiterate that we have now been refunded most of the money we paid to Eclipse, but that's not to say that others shouldn't hear of the bad experience we had with them - even if it is an exceptionally rare and unfortunate case - that is the point of these review sites after all.
