plays a lot of codecs
After some time: 'no disc'- errors (will not play DVD anymore!)
I need a solution?
My Philips DVP-630 just died with the "NO DISC" message too.
You need to align the distance from the laser to the disc.
So not a laser alignment itself, but a alignment of the total laser chassis/tray.
With the Philips DVP 630 player there are 3 screws with rubber washers, 2 on one side and one on the other.
The one is stable and cannot be tightened, but the other 2 can. If you tighten those 2 a little bit, the laser-chassis will be a little bit further from the disc above.
With me it worked and my player worked again with all DVD's.
So I tried lightly tighten two screws a little bit near the end of the tray and that worked like a charm. Open up the player, and eject the tray, looking from back forward, you will see two screws with some sort of rubber washers, and be carefull not to tighten to much.
If you have an other DVD-player.it can work too.
