Polite friendly staff and the way they deal promptly with queries and problems. Also ease of service by phone and internet. Security. Simplicity of services and website presentation.

Been with First Direct Internet Banking www.firstdirect.com for 10 years and always found them good to deal with. Had only one screw-up which could have had disastrous consequences. Matter resolved swiftly (at Xmas time, too) and fees involved refunded. When I decided that I would like an explanation for the screw-up and contacted them, a senior member of management telephoned me and the fees were refunded a second time. Sort of money for nothing, from a bank. Sweet.
