General Comments

I have used Crocus on a number of occasions since 2005, primarily for ordering plants that were 'out of season' at my local gardening centres. However, I have also used their 'design' service, where they prepare a garden/border plan for you.
1. Plants: The size of plants supplied do certainly not relate to the litre size of the pot. My experience has shown that the size/maturity of the plants supplied are way down on what you would expect to get from your garden centre. Beware & compare! They're out to get your money by charging full price for an inferior product.
2. Design Service: I used Crocus's design service back in 2005 as I was unsure what to plant against a north & north-west facing wall. I have two issues here. Firstly, Crocus's response was to use sun loving plants such as lavender's, hebes etc.etc along this fully shaded to partially shaded wall... The majority of these plants were dead within a year. Secondly, the quantity of plants used per sq metre gave no room for future growth. Where plants hadn't died they were planted so close together (due to the quantity supplied by the 'design') that they were choking each other after one year of growth. What an absolute farce. You see, the more plants they use per sq metre, the more money they get from you. The result was that I had to replant a whole border (also now to my own design) that was some 15m long by 2m wide. I have of course raised these issues with Crocus but all they could say after seeing photo's of dead/dying/overcrowded plants was that 'the border looks good to me'. Buyer beware. Poor service & not good customer support. Sorry I cant recommend them.
