General Comments

There are so many design faults on my car that it ' s hard to know where to start. I can't turn the overdrive off, so the bloody thing goes on every time I turn on the engine. It gets turned on and off when my knee hits the button. I drive 99% in the city, but every time I get in the car I have to turn the thing off. I cannot have a little air come out, because the setting only allows me to set it at off or low. The old Nissan Micra didn't do this. The boot shelf is cheap, thin plastic, and it keeps popping up if I don't have the string on, so people can see what's in the boot. The old Micra had a good, solid, boot shelf which always went down. Unlike the old Micra, they use cheap string to hold the shelf up; the old Micra had simple rubber straps that were easy to use. The walls of the Micra are paper-thin, aluminium foil thick steel, consequently, if you so much as look at it wrongly it dents. The old Micra had thick steel walls that were difficult to dent. The radio buttons are awful, difficult to use as the buttons are small and fiddly. The old micra stereo buttons were simple to use. The back window heater turns off every time the bloody engine turns off; consequently if you're using the car all day, you have to turn the damned thing on again and again and again and again. The old Micra didn't do this, turn it on and it stayed on. The new automatic gear stick is so sensitive, that it ' s easy to knock it and change gears, they're so close together that you have to be careful. The old Micra had a good, solidly built stick that was easy to use, with settings far apart so that they were easy to use. There's much to admire in this car, but it is not built to the same quality of design and build as the old Micra, not by any stretch of the imagination. The old Micra was a tank designed as a car, the new micra is cheaply built. The old micra had a reputation for unbeatable quality and durability, the new Micra is not built to last. I have had lots of little problems, which show shoddy quality. Next time - a VW.
