Selling a product we needed at a reasonable price.
Their after sales service was disgracefully inadequate.
Sold me a product that did not work.
Fridge freezer broke, new one bought, 8 days later 1 visit and 45 minutes on an 0870 number and we hope it will be sorted.
Having bought a Hotpoint Fridge freezer (FF200EP), it was found not to work. It took 27 minutes on an 0870 number to get answered, to be told it would be 10 days for an engineer to come out. I asked for our money back, but was told that an engineer (10 days) would have to inspect the appliance prior to them accepting it back. 2 managers further on and the time delay was cut to 4 days. An engineer came, ascertained that the appliance was not working thanks to a circuit board - "probably blown during testing in the factory". He did not have the part, that could be sorted 4 days later. Neither Hotpoint nor Comet were willing to take responsibility for this.
