Exceptional value for money.
High-end performance.
Superb screen quality.
VAIO upgrades and peripherals are very pricey.
I bought my Vaio a few months ago at the low price of £880 and I know that the price has dropped significantly since then. This laptop has an amazing list of high-end features for it's price and I think at this price range you can't find any better.
Some of the important specifications are:
2.2GHz Duo processor making it comparable to many quality desktops on the market.
15.4" HD X-black screen delivering superb picture quality even when watching Blu-ray movies (yes a laptop this cheap has a blu-ray drive).
200GB Hard-disk.
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 graphics (256MB dedicated over 1GB in total) allowing high end gaming.
2GB DDR2 RAM
In the months that i've owned this laptop i've had no technical problems and every game or program i've tried to run have done so including graphic intense games like Neverwinter Nights 2, Oblivion and Half-Life 2.
The only gripe I can have about this extremely portable, powerful laptop is that upgrades and replacements are so expensive from the VAIO shop. A new AC power cord for example will set you back around £80.
