Good Points
Easy to use, lightweight, good clear and loud, finds satellites quickly (even in my home 8 in total) has SD card and TMC along with headphone socket, which is useful for walking or cycling.
It cost £80 with screen mount and car charger.
Bad Points
Can't add new voices, new maps seem hard to find.
General Comments
Before I purchased the RAC 200 I borrowed one, it's been great, I have used it several times in just over a week, have navigated around 200 miles. It has not let me down once.
If you want a sat nav that gets you from A-B or even A-B-C-D etc then this is the one, OK you can't have a bad impression of a celeb giving you directions, or play your MP3's on it or connect it via bluetooth. But you can find your way via address, full UK postcode, or point on map.
It has preloaded speed cameras on, I have not found one which it has not warned me about, it's found everyone! You can set the warning to be visual/sound or both, also you can set an alarm to go off for maximum speed too. It has plenty of POI (points of interest) pubs, cinema, petrol station etc, not all are listed but there are quite a few, this may be down to where or on what list businesses advertise I'm not sure.
There is the option to use KMs or Miles, you can avoid or use motorways, toll roads and ferries. You can ask the satnav to zoom in to the map when you slow down and zoom out when moving faster (this is auto on or off). It has daylight or night colours for the maps and 3D or 2D views.
Navigation options are
Fastest/Car
Shortest/Car
Fastest/Lorry
Shortest/Lorry
Pedestrian
It saves your previous places in the history folder so you can find them again easily and save time, it has home address and office address ( don't put exact ones in, as should it get stolen thieves will know where you live and that your out, particularly
if your house keys are next to it)
All in all I can't find any reason not to buy it, the only thing I can see being a problem is new maps, can't find them on the route 66 website, but I have not tried calling the helpline to see where to get them from yet. But saying that main roads don't change all that often and at the rate that the prices of satnavs are dropping it will be cheap enough to buy a new one when it's really needed.
