docking station; speakers - inputs/outputs
big beautiful screen adjusts to lighting conditions
runs continuously w/o any (real) issues
battery life sucks. bring your plug/adapter.
some issues w/iPod software - had to re-image. May have been my fault. jury's still out on that one.
she is a big girl, but no regrets. worth her weight in processors.
CD/DVD RW was acting funny for a couple of months and then just started being good. go figure.
seeing all the wires on rear of docking station is getting old.
owned since 2K4, she's just about 4 yrs old. SONY really doesn't do packages like this anymore (unless I missed it) with the docking station - for the money. Recently purchased new FZ premium notebook. still like my big girl. she's a solid (NO FAT) performer. I'm mostly ppt, jpeg, and wav's. A290 still surfs like a hawaiian, hardline or wireless. Wanted to partition the HD w/Vista on one and XP on the other. SONY rep said it would be a bad idea. Vista doesn't run everything I need it to. Oh well. I've never had half the problems most my co-workers have with their proprietary brands. I was gonna give her to someone in the family. No way. Now that I can compare her side by side with a new FZ premium notebook, no way.
