*The rated output is with 0.0015% distortion at 8ohm
*Excelent sound quality, better than all other in the same price range.
*Very stylish, nice looking black finish.
*Good features, many different surround modes to choose from.
*Neutral sound, does NOT fake sub-bass like sony, yammaha and kenwood does.
*capable of running BIG speakers.
*Additional input on the front for camera/portable sound.
*many HD input (coaxial/optical)
*the remote is big, heavy and ugly. (It 's a multi remote)
*It automatic choose the best digital setting when you play a new audio source. (yes you can choose it your self but you have to wait for 1sec.)
I 've had the Harmon Kardon AVR 2550 for 3 years and I am very pleased with it.
I 've put it set to set with many other receivers (Marantz, Yammaha, Kenwood)
but H/K still has the best sound quality of them all.
I 've had different HI END speaker connected to it, and it always delivers. (jamo, louther)
