The M48 will always shoot high at 100 yds. This is a military rifle and is designed to shoot on the money at 3-400 yards. So anything under 300 yds the bullet will strike high. Working as designed
The M48 is a very good rifle. Wood finish is a little rough. Great improvement to sand with 200 grit then 150. Finish with 0000 steel wool. Apply a high quality tongue oil finish. Let dry go over with steel wool and repeat till desired finish.
