Special requests on last two vacations have not been passed on to hotel
Prices of drinks and snacks on during flight
We arrived very late in the evening in Costa Blanca, there was no rep available, and I walked around looking for one, eventually seeing a man standing at a desk, no welcome hello, gave my name and was told to proceed to a coach number. There were perhaps 20 other coaches and we proceeded to the very last one, bear in mind that we are young and fit enough, but for anyone elderly this would have been difficulty if anyone has trouble with their sight and then a long walk to the coach. We sat in the heat, and watched all the other coaches go on their way, the driver stood and smoked outside and after an hour, as you can imagine the passengers were getting not only hot, but also a little agitated, Eventually, I decided to go to the terminal to find where our rep was, we was eventually joined by an irate man, when we clapped him he made rude remarks like those who clapped will be dropped off to fend for themselves, one elderly couple at the front of the coach complained about the wait, again he told her to get a taxi. We all sat is silence for the rest of the journey, as you can imagine, elderly people in a foreign country can sometime be afraid. At the drop offs, the rep didn't accompany anyone into the hotels, and some people were obviously in difficulty with strange places and unfamiliar surroundings. My husband and I were dropped off as one of the last people to be left. Left at the side of an unfamiliar road, we made our way to the reception alone. This would be a real problem for my own parents who wouldn't know how to proceed, and they have always used Thomson for this one specific reason, and that is to be looked after. I felt that the Thompson Rep gave us no help or assistance, no advice, and made the first part of our holiday very uncomfortable indeed. During the stay at the Rosamar Hotel Benidorm, we never had any rep in the hotel. We were picked up the same manner, only a bus driver, no Thompson Rep, but we made it back to the airport, again no Thompson Rep to show us the way to the correct gate, the queues were long and we had just enough time to go to the toilet and then proceed to boarding, This would have been better dealt with if a Thomson Rep was at the airport to show the way. This is the second time I have used Thomson Holidays, in the last year, and there have been similar problems and lack of commitment by the staff at the resort. The previous five holidays I booked with First Choice, and always found a rep to be on hand during the holiday, and always at the airport to tell us before leaving the coach which queue to join for our flight. Unless I get an absolute bargain holiday with no frills, I would always choose First Choice from now on for package holidays.
