Cleanliness, equipment, attitude of staff, penny pinching
Just who is "managing" this business now? As a loyal member of Holmes Place for 8 years, my fears of a slip in standards post takeover by Virgin Active have come true.
- in both the gyms I go to, cleanliness has declined to an unacceptable rate. The toilets stink. Since the hand towels have been withdrawn (and very few people can be bothered to use the horrible tissues), gym equipment and mats are quickly soiled. It is disgusting to the extent I am considering making a complaint to the council in one
- despite being a member of Strand near where I work, the local one in South West London won't give me free towels as "it is not my home club". So what?
As I mentioned to the girl on reception, this business has forgotten that it relies on customers. Wait until the recession bites.
