Bad Points
Locking account with no warning. Charging twice for same 6-month period. Impossible to access any customer service people that are actually useful.
General Comments
I used them for years mainly because they were initially cheap but the service was never great as far as I am concerned. This week they finally convinced me to leave by what I believe they did, locking my account and charging me for a bill I am sure I have already paid.
As far as I am aware they gave me no warning and I only realised something was wrong when my employees complained about their email not working. When I called 1&1 they said I couldn't pay over the phone because my details had been passed to their debt collection agency. Calling the debt collection agency it transpired that they are demanding payment for a bill that had been paid six months ago (as far as I am concerned I have the statements to prove it) I still had to pay to get the email up and running again but then I was informed that the account would be locked for another 48 hours while sort out their payments. This is utterly unbelievable in my opinion...
I do not recommend 1and1.
