General Comments

I was just shopping in Debenhams and ended up getting a store card I didn't want due to an extremely hard sell. I was cajoled, stressed, embarrassed and tricked into signing up. I was told it would be cheaper to use the card than to use the tokens and cash I had on me. It cost '£13 more to use the card. I'm unemployed which makes it a big joke that they gave me one anyway - the thing has protection in case you lose your job and can't pay the balance.

I will no longer use Debenhams. When I go shopping I want to just select items and pay for them in the manner of my choosing. If I wanted a store card I would have picked up a leaflet.

So, buyer beware. I said "no" to the man four times and still ended up signing for it. I guess you just have to continually say no until they back down, otherwise just walk out the shop before they take any of your details. Better still, don't go in in the first place.
