It seemed to pick up well on a carpet.
Bad Points
On Hardwood floor - does not work at all - I was thinking there was something wrong with the vacuum - then I was thinking there was something wrong with me - I then thought I was seeing things - so I put about 1/8 cup of rice on the floor to see how it did - it did not pick up anything when the beater bars were on and when I turned them off it didn't pick up anything. I am returning this to the store.
