Landing and getting off
Not enough drinks to last the whole flight.
Poor entertainment when it was working! Very poor quality of interior and seats on the Gatwick to Las Vegas route. Airplane really does need a refit.
Date of Flights 23 Feb 2008 Gatwick to Las Vegas outbound.
General points = late departure and condition of aircraft was very tatty.
Return Flight 29 Feb 2008 Las Vegas to Gatwick inbound.
General points = late departure and alcoholic drinks ran out less that an hour after the this plane took off. Entertainment system did not work properly and approximately half the plane had no entertainment at all!
Extremely poor service. Trays not cleared after 1 hour? when we finally did get something to eat.
Detailed report:
Booked an Expedia holiday which included an option to upgrade to a direct flight on virgin atlantic to Vegas. Outbound flight ok but the plane was old.
Virgin Atlantic worst fight ever!
Flight was late taking off and they run out of drinks 3 hours before we arrived. Plane was old inside and audio sockets were loose on several seats that our party had. Had to wiggle the headphones in order to make them work. Plane really needed a refit to bring it up to an acceptable standard.
Return flight on the same plane was an hour late leaving but that wasn't the real problem. To be expected on flights these days! Took off and after half an hour the drinks trolley came out. Got to us and they had 3 cans of Stella left. We asked if that was for the whole plane and were surprised to be told that there was no more beer on the plane! We still had 8 and half hours to go! Stewardesses were tired and took ages to clear away trays of food when we did eventually get some. Now on to the entertainment system! When the plane took off some of the screens were not working while others were? After the seat belt sign went off several passengers started complaining about the entertainment and the head stewardess starting messing about with the computers to try to get it to work. She kept breaking into the programs that the only working screens to give updates and the passengers who were trying to watch things started getting upset. The system was restarted and finally all the screens came on after about 1 and half hours! Only one problem it was the the outbound entertainment from the UK! which everyone had already seen on the flight to Vegas! Well done Virgin! To add insult to injury we were all offered a letter which included compensation details on it. Virgins best offer was £25 off your next virgin holiday"! I don't think so. I will never ever fly virgin atlantic again.
