Cheap. Combine with your Sky TV package. Free router.
Cheap because the service is as well! Untrained and unhelpful Customer service staff (very much at the 'I am only here to raise tickets' level). Locked in Username and router, daft configuration via the website which times out or sends you in circular loops. Instructions poor. Speed below average and painstainkingly slow at peak times. Locked in Router.
I set this up for a neighbour (but did warn him against it, as I knew other friends who had problems). It took us 2 hours of config, service desk calls and hacking into the router to get a working connection. Setting up email with ISP's is usually just a matter of adding the POP3 and SMTP domains into IE7. Oh, that would be too easy with SKY. With sky, you have to LOGIN to the sky website and then create an email user and then spend 90 minutes trying to create an online account that works with the router. As for the wireless router - OMG! Had a job hacking into it - SKYADMIN is the passcode, I think. I managed to set encryption on the Signal. The router locks you down to their service. It's as if they've tried to design a service for a newbie to makes things as simple as possible, but in practice, is the most frustrating config I have ever been involved with. My neighbour spends most of his weekends on the phone to sky.. Poor guy!
