Hotel staff rude and uncaring, Food not up to standard, dirty rooms, 92 French adolescent school children running wild, no promised entertainment, nothing else to do as on the top of mountain, NOT good for beginner skiing as advertised. Could go on about this dreadful holiday forever.

Flight to Turin and coach travel to Claviere fine. Transported up the mountain by Skidoo as arrived too late for chair lift. Arrived at hotel and immediately realised that the hotel looked shabby, dirty and unkept. Had to drag suitcases up six flights of stairs as no lift. Room dirty mould on the ceiling. Stains all over carpet. Complained to Rep who said he would see us in the morning.
The hotel (hostel) had 92 French adolescent school children in for the week (we were not informed of this beforehand) and the only other guests were our group of 10 and a family of 4.
We went down for dinner the first evening and as we had been allocated the last time for dinner (8 oclock) and the French school children had been in before us there was little left and not up to standard. You had to take a tray and be served from the counter as in school. The breakfast consisted of sliced French stick from the evening before, cold coffee left in a container and croissants.
There were two beginners in our party and although we had booked lessons there was little available for them.
We found that the hotel kept leaving our room doors open and we complained as there was no safety deposit boxes in the hotel and we expected our room doors to be kept locked.
We asked our Rep (First Choice) to move us several times but were told there was no availabilty elsewhere.
There was nowhere to go apart from your room in the hotel because the French schoolchildren took up all the lounge and restaurant area, they were extremely noisy and also sat on the stairs, shouting and screaming. There was little control from the adults in their group.
We arrived on Sunday evening and by Tuesday we had had enough and wanted to return home.
On Tuesday we returned at midday to collect some bits from our room and found it wide open as usual. There were two men inside plastering some of the areas we had complained about and also removing the mould from the ceiling - it was falling on to our beds below and we completely lost our cool.
Much shouting and phone calls later the Rep said they would move three of us down to Claviere. The rest of the group had to stay put. The reason they moved us was because the hotel had complained about us shouting at the men in our room to get out and because they required an extra room for two people whose room radiator leaked constantly.
We were moved to a two star hotel in Claviere and in comparison with the Sport Hotel it was wonderful! We lost the skiing lessons that we had booked with the holiday and had to buy private lessons in the new resort.
Because of their dreadful attitude we would never use First Choice again.
