Good sized property and good location


General Comments

Here is my quick pieces of advice after my experience with David Wilson Homes (in the South West)

To set the scene, I bought a large house from them and wished from day one that I had not gone ahead with the purchase.

They did not help me; they only chased.
The actual builders (who do a difficult job) are being forced by unrealistic deadline and poor designs; resulting in poor quality.

They promised exchange and completion for October and then November and continued to delay until January, 2008. In the end, they blamed me daily for all the issues when their contracts department and solicitors could not even sort out the contractual paperwork! Their people did not know:

a) what they were selling - they said my fully enclose garden was communal and I should share it with other people;

b) They would not give me a parking space or garage;

c) The floors needed to be prepared separately to lay carpets (£500+ several days delay);

d) They blocked my access to my property for over 2 weeks and did not even apologise;

e) Ceilings which are only 3 feet above the staircase on the third floor and roof had to be lifted.
