I needed a new porch door. The salesman came on time and gave a quote without trying to sell me anything else or get me to buy extras. He told me they would ring a few days later with a lower price (which they did). I agreed to go with the second price and set a date for installation. They were an hour late, but apologised (a phone call would have been nicer, but the QEII Bridge was closed in the morning, so I figured they would be late). They did the work in about two hours. Cleaned up. Showed me how to work the door and left. No problems.
When I called the company I just wanted an idea of how much this would cost me. They said they would send a price list. They sent nothing. Then they rang back and I said I hadn't got anything and again asked for a price list. They sent me a brochure. Why can't companies just give you a general idea about cost?
When I set up an appointment they initially said my husband had to be with me. I told them that would be impossible. Then they said they would have someone call me back and set up an appointment - not really sure what that was about.
I tried to get a quote from Anglian, but the salesman never showed. Probably a good thing in the long run.
I had got a voucher from Homebase for Crystal Windows, but lost it before the salesman came. He was polite and honest (and pointed out that the voucher would only have been 40% if I was having the whole house done). I'm not sure that I got the best price, but they did what they said they were going to do and I got my door installed in under a month.
My door is only just installed, so I can't say about long-term service or quality. I would recommend them to someone who is buying a door, but don't know how they would do if you wanted the whole house done.
