Holiday was good but only because we already knew what to do and where to go. Luxor was a dream for us as we have been back again and again. The cruise boat was nice and the staff extremely polite and friendly. The Hotel Steigenberger Nile Palace was the best choice ever with first class accommodation and definatily a 5 star.
Bad Points
We got dropped off at the airport only to realise that the reps immediately left us on our own. As normal we got in the check in queue only to be told that there was a delay of 23 hours. We looked for the reps but were told they had gone? Even more upsetting was the fact that one passenger said that he overheard the rep being told on the phone that we were delayed. Why did they not tell us before dumping us alone.
On the cruise our rep informed us not to tip any of the waiters, which after traveling their many times thought this was wrong as tipping is a way of life in Egypt. In fact a passenger was tipping a bellboy when the rep was passing. The rep took the money from the bellboy and gave it back and promptly told them off! We therefore feel reps should learn the way of life people live in different countries before doing what they feel is right.
General Comments
The holiday was good overall but we did not get any help or support from the first choice reps. Thank heavens we already knew what to do. But the fact remains we paid for a service that we got only part of.
Would we go again ? Yes is the answer but we would have to think long and hard about the tour company. Foreign countries can be daunting and leave you vulnerable if left on your own.
