I'm not sure there are any weak points, but if I had to list something, I'd say that being new on the scene, sellers might be concerned about low bids, esp. with no reserve. However, seller feedback says ASPs are significantly higher with Bidtopia then they had been with ebay. I'll bet that has something to do with Bidtopia's ONE fee!
General Comments
Bidtopia is the only alternative to ebay! This is what I see, after following bidtopia's progress:
1) Despite being a fairly new auction site (and working out a few bugs), they have really hit the ground running - look at their sellers...titanium and platinum sellers that came from ebay.
2) FEES! Are you kidding me?! Do a side-to-side comparison with ebay, and tell me who comes out on top. I'll tell you - Bidtopia. ONE Fee.
3) Real Buyers and Sellers. Bidtopia qualifies them, which equals Real Auctions, and no margin for large scale fraud.
Overall, Bidtopia IS what ebay never will be - a REAL auction site. Keep your eyes on them, and start asking for a store concept for small sellers!
