Good Points
1and1 offer a wide range of services and at very reasonable cost, while using just a basic hosting package I have not had any problems.
Bad Points
I have recently upgraded to a dedicated server and the customer support has been basic, the email replies have been minimum (to say the least) so if you have the patience to repeat yourself (several times!!) then I would recommend using the telephone support rather than firing off dozens of emails in order to get the desired response.
General Comments
No problems with server uptime (to date) and I think it is just the customer service that needs to be improved... drastically! I am no IT expert so on a positive note I have found the FAQ's actually very helpful. I guess at the end of the day there will always will be problems with customer support as there are with all multi national companies, just very annoying!
