Wonderful balance, power, kick and accuracy.
Bought mine secondhand, their rock solid, so why not???
Built to last......
Genuinely none...(though maybe price - it is just metal after all - but its quality does count!)
I bought this pistol after several months target shooting with my BSA Lightning XL Tactical .22 (a great rifle) in the garden. This was a second hand purchase from a gun shop and on initial inspection I was more than impressed with the look, feel and quality of the gun in person than internet images can manage.
My choice was also a .22 in the standard black finish as I have big hands and find the larger pellet size easier to manage and of no detriment in accuracy out to 35ish yds.
I have previously seriously considered buying the Webley Tempest and Hurricane and also the BSA 240 Magnum, though now I have the HW45 I know it will be a choice for life. I have tested this pistol on a 40 yard range with just the bog standard iron sights and they are amazingly good at lining up the targets. I am no pro, but found that I could easily hit the 10" x 10" targets at serious distance with slight hold over where required.
I have no interest in dull, target sport, pneumatic guns that are lifeless. When I release the trigger I want to feel recoil and the associated challenges that it provides.
I now realise that pistol shooting is fun though requiring effort (after 50ish shots) with the HW45 and am happy that I bought at the top of the market. I am sure that nothing else can match this package from Weihrauch unless it is similarly priced, and amazingly its a decades old design and inner workings!!!
