Appalling service
Apologies if this is clipped but there's lots so I've done it for brevity:
My car was stolen in January and recovered three weeks later. I was told it had been assessed and was being written off. I let my insurance lapse only to be told three weeks later they had changed their mind! For your own sanity, avoid!
Swift's catalogue of poor service:
Took 48 hours after reporting theft, two phone calls, two emails and logging the claim online before they responded.
Courtesy Car I paid extra to have not supplied for over a week.
Courtesy Car supplied for one week initially. When I asked to extend I got no response. I duly returned the Courtesy Car only to be informed by hirer it HAD been extended.
When police recovered car (undriveable) and asked me to have insurance send tow truck to collect, Swift agent asked me where he should arrange to have vehicle taken to and did not seem to know his company's own processes/approved repairers etc.
Swift did not liaise between police/tow truck/repairer on my behalf, I had to make/receive all calls and arrange logistics.
Repairer called me to advise car had been left at their forecourt by Swift's representatives without their knowledge two days before they realised it had been delivered - no paperwork, docket etc.
Swift initially wrote off vehicle then three weeks later changed mind and authorised repairs. Swift did not inform me of this decision, I found out only when documents were delivered back to my house.
Set of documents etc tendered to Swift returned incomplete.
I'm continually reminding them about my policy/cover and what I expect to receive - courtesy car/settlement for personal effects lost in theft/settlement for stereo covered
Six weeks later I have no car and have had no settlement
In short, Swift are cheap because I feel they do nothing for you. Every step of the way you will find yourself chasing them and will need to make numerous phone calls and send numerous emails to see any progress. Spend a little more cash to ensure you are with an insurer who will provide you hassle-free customer service when it comes to the crunch.
Swiftcover is an excellent concept let down by poor execution
